MEDIUMSHIP
A medium is a person who can experience and communicate with the dead. Those no longer in the physical body are commonly referred to as spirit. A medium is conscious when receiving information from Spirit and can both interpret such communication and relay it to a sitter (those requesting the information) in a way that is understood.
What to expect during a Reading
Once the energy of spirit is established, the medium will provide some evidential information as they focus on a specific person in spirit that wants to communicate with the sitter. The evidence might come, for example, in the form of a name or a place or circumstance. As the connection becomes stronger, more specific information may be communicated. Often causes of death or personality traits continue in a stream of information. Sitters are encouraged to limit responses to the medium to only “yes”, “no” or “maybe” answers at first. Mediums need acknowledgement about the validity of the evidence, but sitters should not volunteer extra information. In addition, some information provided by the medium may not be apparent to the sitter immediately, but may later be verified, so it is recommended that sitters take notes. If we are working on Zoom, it’s possible to have the session recorded, please request this at the beginning of the session.
How is this information received?
Jennifer is a Medium who practices Evidential ‘Mental’ mediumship. In this form of mediumship the medium communicates with spirit via telepathy and may hear, see or feel messages from spirit. Mediums often describe “seeing” as occurring through their mind’s eye. “Hearing” is often described as sounds that are sometimes muffled, as opposed to a crisp conversation. A medium will often give a stream of names that sound similar at first when identifying a name. Mediums can also feel emotions or physical sensations from spirit. For example, they might feel tightness in their chest when a spirit is trying to communicate their cause of death. It is called Evidential Mediumship as the goal is to give you very specific evidence from your loved ones which will leave you with no doubt that you have connected with them.
Can I connect with specific deceased loved ones during readings?
Mediums cannot command a specific spirit with whom they wish to connect to appear, but they can make the request. Bear in mind that mediums are human instruments who allow themselves to be used by those in spirit to make a connection to those still in the physical. Sometimes sitters enter a reading wanting to hear from only one specific entity and are not open to evidence presented from others wishing to get through. In a group setting, mediums are often dealing with multiple spirits wishing to get messages through.
There are many factors involved in spirit communication as it is a combination of elements such as the willingness of spirit, the ability of spirit to communicate and the resonance among the sitter, medium and spirit. In addition, an individual medium can best interpret information that lies within their own frame of reference.
Even when there is a bond of love between the sitter and the spirit, it does not ensure that a connection will be made. The lack of a connection is by no means an indication that the spirit does not desire to communicate, nor is it an indication that the medium is not qualified.
As a sitter, you will get the best results by preparing in advance for the Reading.
Before your reading, make a list of all the people you have in spirit and mentally ask the ones you would like to hear from to come to our meeting.
During your reading, make sure you are able to be in a comfortable place where you will have privacy.
If you meditate or do yoga, please use these practices to relax on the morning of your session if possible.
Please do not use any mind-altering substances before your session, if you are not clear in mind and body it is less likely you will get a clear reading.
Come to the session with a sense of excitement!
Have a pen and paper or journal handy so that you can take notes and you are welcome to record.
